Right at the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare’s birthplace, the cottage is a stroll away from everything on your to-see and to-do list.
From its prized location in the Old Town you can walk to the river Avon , feed the swans, take a pleasure cruise or take your own boat on the river. The famous Royal Shakespeare Company theatres are right by – the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, The Swan and The Other Place. This year the RSC is staging all of Shakespeare’s plays.
Visit the house where the bard was born, in nearby Henley Street. ,
All the best restaurants are here. Your local pub is the famous Garrick Inn, built in the 14th century! On your way there you pass Shakespeare’s old school. A few moments away, by the river, is Holy Trinity Church where he is buried. A few minutes in another direction and you are at the Farmers’ Market , where local farm produce is regularly on sale. Try the venison sausages and the cider!
The cottage is cosy and intimate, with central heating and all necessary comforts. A spiral staircase, takes you to the bedroom (exposed beams and curious built-in wardrobes!) and bathroom above. The sleeping accommodation comprises a good size double bed in the bedroom and a comfortable sofa bed in the lounge.
